It's already March 1st-- and that means we are here to reveal a brand new Sketch and our Design Team's interpretations.
First of all though, I promised you all that things would be a little different at S: CY this term. So, a little explanation is in order! :)
How will things work?
We will draw for a prize at the end of EACH MONTH. There will be TWO sketch challenges every month, so that mean you'll have two chances to win the monthly prize.
A photo of the prize will be posted. :)
From now on, when a new layout Sketch is posted on the Blog, you will also see an inspiration piece accompanying the Sketch.
These two things, together, make up a "Sketch challenge" which will be described to you in words.
1) Sketch
2) Inspiration piece
What should you do for a chance to win the monthly prize?
1. Look at the Sketch and Inspiration piece. Read the challenge.
2. Check and write down the due date! It will be clearly noted in each challenge. (One challenge will be finished before the next one starts.)
2. Create a layout that fits the challenge.
3. Post your PAPER OR DIGITAL layout on your Blog and share it with us by the Due Date, using Mr. Linky. Mr. Linky can be found at the bottom of the post, but ONLY until the due date!
What does the Team at S: CY do?
1. After links are posted, the S: CY Team will visit every one of them to leave some "love." :)
2. I will send you an "I Played Along..." badge to proudly display on your Blog! :)
3. I will compile a list of all the links to LOs for each Sketch Challenge into a permanent link list in a post on the blog. Each entry will be numbered in the order it was received. This number becomes the number that will apply to you in the prize draw. (Example: If you are the third person to post your work, yours will be link #3 in the list.) Then, if, using Random.org, your number (ie: "3") is drawn, you are the winner!!
3. We will do a PRIZE DRAW using Random.org at end of the month. Draw dates will be announced as each month starts.
QUESTIONS? Shoot me an email at peteali@ eastlink. ca (NO SPACES).

Journaling reads:
You worked so hard for a month on writing stories, drawing pictures, and
reading poetry to get ready for the Mother's Tea in Mrs. Carlton's 3rd grade
language arts. The morning was amazing! I am so lucky to be your mom!
"Our Beagles" layout created by S: CY Design Team Member Karen Zabuska |
'Presents" layout created by S: CY Designer Patchi Moussatche |
"Welcome Baby Emory Jude" mini-album created by S: CY Design Team Member Elisha Pharr |
"Young Men" layout created by S: CY Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko |
"A Folk Tail" layout created by S: CY Team Leader Ali MacDonald |
Journaling reads:
In the spring of 2012, as a grade six ELA and Art project, you retold a
Folktale with partner Ryan. It was quite a detailed assignment, and required the
creation of four puppets. You chose the “Lion” and the “Donkey.” Ryan did the “Warthog”
and the “Fox.” (I was really glad we didn’t have to create a warthog!) We sewed your puppets from scraps: a golden
yellow t-shirt sleeve became the Lion and a grey sock, the Donkey. You worked
the sewing machine, cut the yarn, and stitched on the manes with help. We stuck
the eyes on using Glue Dots and you drew the lion’s face with a “Sharpie”
marker. Both puppets turned out so cute, and from the look on your face, I
could see how those puppets ignited your imagination! Great job, Daniel!
***Thanks to everyone on the Team for their interpretation this week! An extra special thanks to March Guest Designer Lynnette Nagle for her "take" on the Sketch Challenge!***We have a wee bit more "fun stuff" to cover this week before we sign off and let you get your Sketch Challenge creations done!
