Sketch # 39-10

Sketch  #39-10

Sketch created by S:CY Team Leader Ali MacDonald

Today we have a wonderful variety of styles to share with you! This sketch seemed to lend itself well to that.

Guest Designer Virginia Wong provides a rich, modern twist, while Designers Debbie Ridlen and Terri-Ann Morris "go vintage" with their layouts!

Misty Miller and Janice Coble are two S:CY Designers who have baseball fever and used this sketch to commemorate games that they've attended. Did you know that both  of these ladies also have twin boys? Isn't that a fun coincidence? LOL

Cathy Sanders celebrates another milestone in her son's life with a classic scrappy-interpretation of the first day of school.

So, without further ado, it is my pleasure to share these layouts with you!

"Bewitched"

Layout created by S:CY June Guest Designer Virginia Wong

"Back to School"

Layout created by S:CY Designer Cathy Sanders

"Take me out to the Ball Game"

Layout created by S:CY Designer Janice Coble

"Indianapolis Indians"

Layout created by S:CY Designer Misty Miller

"Memory"

Layout created by S:CY Designer Debbie Ridlen

Debbie writes, "I used the three squares in the sketch for journaling blocks. I wrote down everything I can remember about my mom taking my picture that day. It was my birthday and the only thing I can't remember is how old I was!"

"Once upon a Time..."

Layout created by S:CY Designer Terri-Ann Morris

Terri-Ann writes, "I plan to add journaling to the patterned paper on either side of the title once I have spoken to my Nan about when she worked at the children's home."

Thanks for visiting with us today. We love seeing you here and reading your thoughts in the comments section!
If you try this, or any other S:CY Sketch, please post a link for us so that we can go visit your Gallery or Blog & leave some love!!

Thank you also for our wonderfully talented Guest Designer Virginia Wong, who did a stellar job this month interpreting the sketches in her amazing style.  Thanks Virginia! It has been an absolute pleasure to work with you!

Thanks to the S:CY Team!

Until next week...

I have a treat for you today. Ann Seleshanko, our Senior Designer here at S:CY has created yet ANOTHER versatile card sketch. Her June card brought out some varied interpretations among our designers. Enjoy! Lots of inspiration here, and I am so proud to share.

What a TEAM!

Let's get to it! :o)

June 2010 S:CY Card Sketch

Sketch created for S:CY by Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko

Quotation Card

Card created by S:CY's newest Designer, Janice Coble!

The elegance of this card speaks for itself. I adore those peach satin flowers and the pearls! Thank you, Janice for sharing this beauty with us! We are so happy you're here.

Father's Day Card

Card created by S:CY Designer Terri-Ann Morris

A classic and softly embellished card~ So lovely! Terri-Ann told me that she used  Tim Holtz distress inks to stamp and colour the background. She is giving this card to her Dad for Father's Day on June 20th.

"Congrats Grad" ~ Card #1

"Diploma" ~ Graduation card  #2

"Congrats Grad" ~ Card #3

Graduation cards created by S:CY Designer Sherry Owens

I  just love the red and  blue Sherry used!! Awesome, fun cards!
Sherry writes: "Tis the Season... for graduations... and this sketch was very handy to help in the creation of 3 different-yet-similar cards for grads."

"Celebrate Today" Card

Card created  by S:CY  Designer Jennifer Cassista.

Jenn writes; " I used new Tim Holtz paper (isn't it yummy?) and his stamps and lots of Prima."
Hmmm, "Yummy" describes this card beautifully!!!! And  that flower is stunning! Great job Jenn!

All-occasion Card

Card created by S:CY Designer Jillian Anger

The softness  of his card  telegraphs such comfort and gentleness. Jillian writes that she used up some scraps on her card and that the stamp was from an "old Stamp in' Up set."

"Thank You" Card

Card created by S:CY Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko

Ann used her Copic markers to full advantage here to make this darling little girl come to life. Ann is a certified Copic Instructor. You can check ourt more of her work at Savvy n Sassy. She is one of two Copic Designers over at SnS. Check out the Copic Club there~! The price of the markers is AMAZING as is the educational component.  It has me really excited. It's a way to build your Copic marker collection at a reasonable PACE and PRICE!

"Best of Luck" Card

Simple card created by S:CY Team Leader Ali MacDonald

I needed something simple and FAST made up for a supervisor who was leaving my husband's workplace today! It's that time of year in the military: we call it "Posting Season!"

Since I didn't know this gal's colour or style preferences, I  kept embellishment to a minimum, using some  Graphic 45 patterned paper & a small scrap of 1/4" wide satin ribbon.  The stamp I used for the sentiment was from Anita's Sugarloaf Designs (2002). I find the Graphic 45 paper amazing to use in creating fast cards needing little embellishment except that brought to view by the  beauty of the papers.

Don't forget about our RAK!

Be sure to leave us a note and let us know what you're up to scrappin'-wise... and what you thought of today's creations! Your name will be entered into the RAK!

Thank You to my fantastic S:CY Design Team for a job well done-- AGAIN!!

Have a wonderful weekend and week  ahead.

This summery, citrus-y layout is a "TREAT!" for the eyes!

Welcome to our June 2010 Guest Designer: Virginia Wong!!

You know, as a scrapper, I have the BEST job in the world... not only memory keeping, but being able to "virtually" meet and get to know so many fantastic, genuinely GOOD people who also happen to value all aspects of what we term "Scrapbooking."

With that in mind, and sincerely thanking my right hand gal, Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko for connecting us, I want to extend the hand of welcome to Virginia Wong, our June Guest Designer here at S:CY!

June 2010 Guest Designer at S:CY ~ Virginia Wong

A warm S:CY Welcome, Virginia! Our entire Team is creatively "pumped" to have you along with us this month!

Virginia is a busy Mom to 2 girls, but sent us a Bio so we could get to know her a little better.

Bio:

Hello! My name is Virginia Wong. I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer for Sketches: Creatively Yours Blog. Originally from Saskatchewan, I am proud to call Calgary my home. I am a full-time Mom and a part-time Information Technology consultant. Scrapbooking is my relaxation and passion - I need to scrapbook every day, be it reading a scrapbook magazine or creating a layout. Since I started scrapbooking, I notice the mundane and the spectacular and record my family`s lives - and that makes me very happy!

I love using and mixing vibrant, bold colours and patterns along with all those irresistible embellishments. My layouts often capture the everyday escapades of my two energetic and happy-go-lucky girls, Madison and Danielle. My second passion is photography and I continue to work on fine tuning my skills!

I adore sketches - they are the catalyst for all the ideas I try to incorporate into my layouts and cards. The sketches at Creatively Yours are so versatile and flexible. Thanks so much for having me at Creatively Yours!

I asked Virginia to share a favourite project with us, and she decided to send this Layout, which is entitled "Right Now."  I love the rich greens, the blush of the bold pinks and of course  the irresitible photographs!

"Right now"

Layout created by Designer Virginia Wong

You can see more of Virginia's beautiful paper-art work by checking out her Blog, which is located HERE.

Thanks for spending June with us Virginia!
