Ann's triumphant layout features a simple title, soft green & cream tones, memorable photos of her boys and a gorgeous, misty scenic backdrop. Her use of papers mimics the mood of the photo backgrounds and does not take away from the pride the children radiate! GREAT job!
Ali stayed pretty true to her sketch.
The distressing component here was accomplished in 7 ways.
They are: 1- messy pen doodles & "hen-scratching," 2- black smeared ink, 3- ravelled rick-rack ends, 4- rough-edged recycled mesh pieces tucked in unexpected spots, 5- sanding of bracket prior to inking, 6- use of BasicGrey's distressed-look lettering (Basic Elements Black: BEL-083) and 7- use of faded-look patterned paper scraps (3 Bugs in a Rug "Seeing Stars" collection).
The S:CY Good News Department
Guess what?
We have TWO pieces of good news to share this morning!
First, Scrapscene, the scrapbooking world's premiere source of information announced that Vivi Rahman and Deanne Burton were fulfilling Guest Design Team Member/Guest Sketch Artist positions on our site this month. Always nice to see the names of those we know and love on Scrapscene! Thanks Angie, for telling everyone we have input and inspiration from Vivi and Deanne this month!
Secondly, I received an email from Design Team Member Andi Dickson yesterday saying that her "More Peas, Please" layout, using the 6x12" Sketch #7 by Sketch Artist Noella Arsenault, was accepted into the BasicGrey Gallery.
BRAVO ANDI!
Kudos for you, Noella, and for S:CY!
FAQ Department
QUESTION: Can I use a S:CY sketch in the completion of a Challenge on another site or forum and then post it here in the S: CY Comments section for you to consider as an entry for a Creative Guest, Guest Designer or October Creative Round-Up spot?
ANSWER: ABSOLUTELY! I'd be thrilled to have you combine an S:CY sketch with a Challenge on another site/blog/Forum whenever and wherever you wish. Just be sure to tell folks on the other Forum where you found the sketch you used. This simply means that you would include a link to S:CY when you post your Challenge creation on their site.
