Well, today is March 1st, and I am thrilled to tell you that our Guest Designer for the month of March 2010 is none other than the very talented and personable Vicki Chrisman!!!!

Oh my, THAT was a secret that was hard to keep to myself!!!!! I swore our S:CY Design Team to secrecy too! LOL!

"Hi everyone!
I'm so honored to be asked to Guest Design here with you all this month!
A little bit about me...
I have been incorporating art into my life for as long as I can remember. Paper Crafting is definitely my passion. Style???... I would have to say Vintage style is where my heart lies. Although, I do love a bit of everything.
I enjoy any opportunity to share my love of scrapbooking and paper crafting with others through teaching.
Over the past 15 years, since discovering scrapbooking , I have been lucky enough to travel and teach around the US and Canada. Teaching at stores, scrapbooking events and Trade shows has given me an opportunity to meet so many others who share my love of this craft. What more could a girl ask for, right?
I’m proud to design for “Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage”,Tattered Angels, AccuCut and Adhesives 3L.
Thanks again for inviting me to be a part of the fun here this month."

I have a little something extra to share with you this morning.

I first "met" Vicki when I was organizing the huge "Celebrity Sketch Extravaganza" at Scrapbooker's Clubhouse in May 2008.

Vicki was one of 11 scrappy celebs who shared their talents with fellow scrappers by creating a sketch and a sample layout!! Vicki created the sketch below and gave me the "okay" to share it here today...

Using this versatile and fun sketch, Vicki then created the interpretation below, featuring her dog Molly. An avid animal lover, Vicki told me that Molly was a rescue, having been adopted from a shelter. Vicki also has a second dog, who is named Allie- another sweetheart!

Design Team Call!

Sketches: Creatively Yours is having a Design Team Call!

Sketch #58 by Sketch Artist & CY founder, Noella Arsenault

Create a Layout with the above 12x12" sketch by our Blog's founder, Sketch Artist Noella Arsenault. Submit it, along with a short bio to peteali@eastlink.ca for a chance to make the next S:CY Team!!

Entries will be judged on originality, use of sketch, and overall harmony.
Please do give it a try! Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch provided.

Contest runs from Feb 25- March 20. Entries can be accepted from now until midnight AST, March 20th. New S:CY Team members will be notified by March 22nd, and the new team will be announced on March 29th.

The DT Term runs April 1, 2010- Sept 1, 2010

Responsibilities include 2-3 creations per month, emailed to Ali by the due date. Unfortunately, late assignments cannot be posted... except in special circumstances (and I understand that those DO happen! )

The assignments could be Layouts, bookmarks, tags, library pockets, or cards.

You will also be asked to display a DT Blinkie on your blog and promote S:CY wherever you can.

As a member of the DT at S:CY, you will have fun, "get your name out there" and be provided with a chance to have your creations SEEN on a larger scale!

Unfortunately I cannot compensate you with scrappy products. I can, however, provide you with a well-written letter of reference relating your skills and experience at S:CY should you ever need one. (I can also provide a reference for you via any media you wish: postal mail, MSN chat, email, etc... should it ever be needed.)

Please note, if you are one of the successful applicants, your LO entry to this DT Contest will be used along with a short Bio when we announce the new Design Team.

S:CY Card Sketch #2 of 2010!

Hope you've all had a good week. Here at the MacDonald household, we are in the midst of science projects with Daniel and Bryan... LOL! I am learning a lot about the deinonychous dinosaur and the creation of lava lamps! OHMY! Next will be Bryan's Heritage project. He is thinking about doing a project on the RCMP's Musical Ride! My Grampie was an RCMP! I am really excited about Bryan's choice of topic... so is Bry, who talks of becoming a policeman (or a teacher...)

Kate's Grade 10 exams are over and today's her report card day! She was pretty excited. That's such a great thing to see...

Anywhoodles, "Happy Friday" everyone! It's the best day of the week for so many people... I figured, why not add to the fun and post a GREAT card sketch for you!

Our February Guest Sketch Artist and Designer...

is none other than the fabulously talented Monika Martinson!

Monika designs beautiful sketches and has created TWO layout sketches PLUS TWO interpretations of her sketches for us here this month!

February 5th will be the reveal day for the first of these sketches PLUS Monika's and the S:CY Design Team's fabulous interpretations!

I asked Monika to share a bio with us...

Guest Designer and Sketch Artist Monika Martinson

First of all I would like to say thank you for the honor of being selected guest sketch artist.

My name is Monika (aka Moma). I live in Sweden, just outside of Stockholm with my husband and our daughter who is now five.

I have been scrapping since 2004, when my DD was born. Like every one else I wanted to save those precious first photos in a special way. Now I have to admit, I don’t just scrap to keep our memories but also because this is the best way ever for me to be creative.

My scrapbooking style is romantic, shabby, but I also enjoy digital scrapbooking. That has actually been a perfect way for me to learn Photoshop, a skill that I need in my work.
