Sketch #0033 and a Special Assignment

WOW! It's the end of another productive and fun month- and Spring is here in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia.... we are blessed! Sure hope nice weather has found you, too! I know Ann and her family have had snow in Calgary, Alberta! Yikes!

Today I bring to you a sketch from April Guest Sketch Artist and CY Founder, Noella Arsenault! In addition, to celebrate the upcoming May 1st  National Scrapbooking Day,  I have a special treat for you in the form of 2 cards created by one of our Design Team Members, using Noella's recently featured card sketch!

Here we go! Welcome to S:CY everyone!

First, lets share a very versatile layout Sketch.

This one features some circular  elements and a strong linear point of anchor. It's very pleasing to the eye as you will see from our Designers' interpretations.

Enjoy!

Sketch #0033

Sketch is from the CY archives, and was created by our April 2010 Guest Sketch Artist & founder of the original "Creatively Yours" blog site, Noella Arsenault

"Where?"

An Easter layout created by S:CY Design Team Member Misty Miller.
Misty chose to turn the sketch 1/4 turn to the right and her layout boasts  beautifully positioned Easter eggs, a CUTE bunny, and pastel colours that say "welcome spring!"
Another great job Misty!

"The Conversation"

With crisp colours and precious pics, mom of 2 and  S:CY Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko  captured an everyday moment between her two boys as they discussed the topic of  Pokemon. The crisp, vibrant  colours and use of the circular elements on the patterned papers draws us in & works so well here! Bravo Ann!

A special "Thank You" to our Designers today: Ann and Misty.

As Team Leader, it is always my pleasure to  be able to post your work here at S:CY.

Pair of  "Happy Birthday" cards created by S:CY Designer Sherry Owens

Sherry writes "I had such fun with the card I did 2 versions. I did it again using some of the same supplies and some different."

"Happy Birthday" card  created by S:CY Designer & Technical Advisor Vivi Rahman

"All Occasion" card created by S:CY Designer Jillian Anger

Jillian writes: "The card is made by using a felt coaster from Michael's as a mask and misting with green Maya Mist over top, then I used perfect pearls to outline the butterfly, and added pearls for the body. A few Primas, some pearl sprigs, dotted ribbon and a spray over the whole thing with Maya Road iridescent mist finishes it. :) Oh, and the base of the card is inked with the new Tim Holtz dark green distress ink."

"It's your Special Day" card created by Terri-Ann Morris

(Terri writes that "The Sugar Nellie stamp was designed by Sarah Kay & coloured with Promarkers. My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow papers were used."

Birthday card created by S:CY Designer Lynn Marsh

Lynn writes that "WOW" is the acronym for "World of Warcraft", a computer game her son really enjoys. This birthday card was for him, and to personalize the card to his interests, Lynn incorporated a character from the game!

"Happy Birthday" card created by S:CY  Senior Designer Ann Seleshanko

"Get Well Soon" card created by Designer Ali MacDonald

Ali's card was created using Bazzill CS, Scenic Route pp, Versafine ink in Caramel and horses stamp #187 by All Night Media. Button from friend Helen (TY!). Large blue ric rac from the  "April Skies" Ribbon Kit by Savvy 'n Sassy.

"Cards for Lennon"
Please note....This card was created for an initiative to send cards to a little boy, age 3 1/2, named Lennon,  who is suffering from a recurrence of brain cancer. His Grandma has  said that the doctors have only given him a 20% chance in beating this. He needs our prayers.
Please email me at peteali@eastlink.ca if you'd also like to send a card to help offer this little boy and his Mommy some hope. I can thus give you the address.
I heard today that Lennon is in hospital receiving his 3rd Chemo treatment.
Thank You so much!

Have a wonderful week everyone! Keep on creating! Try this sketch, leave us a link in the comments section! We'll pop over and leave you some love!

Still issues with Blogger!!

Can't upload your beautiful pics properly, S:CY DT.

I will keep trying! Trust me everyone who is waiting, there is some serious eye candy and a GREAT sketch going up as soon as I can get the "Compose" mode working.

Fingers crossed that blogger fixes this problem soon!
Sorry for the delay.

~ Ali

Blogger issues:

Blogger is having known issues (ie: a problem) for those using Compose mode for posts.

I can't upload our beautiful creations this way so will just wait until later to day (Fri Apr 9) Blogger is working on a fix. Thanks for your patience!

~ Ali

All gorgeous DT layouts will be posted and a list will accompany them using the titles of the layouts as a reference in order to credit each S:CY designer for her work.

"Gravy Anyone?"

Layout created by Sketches: Creatively Yours Designer Misty Miller

Misty writes: "The journaling is probably hard to read - I had a lot to say.
Here's the journaling in a nutshell. My sister and brother-in-law were fixing breakfast, burned the gravy, and didn't mention it. They served it hoping no one would notice. As we were politely eating the burnt gravy, my niece came in and mentioned that the gravy tasted funny. Thank goodness she did! It's a family story they probably won't live down!"

"Celebrate"

Layout created by S: CY Designer Lynn Marsh

Lynn told me that this layout is special to her because it is a picture taken the day of her eldest son Joe's graduation from High School in 1998.
